Biography
Following an initial interest in Botany, Michael Howes trained at Herts Institute of Agriculture and Horticulture and then at City University. He worked for Pan Britannica Industries, Fisons, Schering and Hoechst in a number of capacities, specialising in document management and in the provision of regulatory documents through scanned image-based systems. In 1990 he began contributing garden inages to the Garden Picture Library, an arrangement that continues. He specialises in garden features and practical gardening. Michael Howes is NGS garden photographer for Hertfordshire, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals and is currently Honorary Secretary of the Garden Writers' Guild. |
